How to Generate Coupons and Discounts

Everyone loves discounts. Everyone loves paying less to get more. That’s the basic law of economics. That’s why your online store, now and then, needs to offer discounts to your buyers.

Here is how to generate coupons and discounts:

1. Login to your WordPress Dashboard.
2. Go to Products > Marketing.
3. Click Add Coupon. You’ll see the Coupons configuration box.
4. Configure Coupons, here are the steps:

• Fill in every field required: Coupon Code, Discount, Start (date), Expiry (date)
• Checklist Use Once if you wanna generate single-use coupons, do otherwise if you wanna generate multiple-use coupons
• Checklist Active, which you can any time inactivate without modifying any configuration
• Checklist Apply on All Products if you wanna have discounts applied to all products in your store, do otherwise if you wanna have them applied to certain products
• Configure Conditions, consisting 3 sections you can freely modify: (1) factors: item name, item quantity, total quantity, subtotal amount; (2) variables: is equal to, is greater than, is less than, contains, does not contain, begins with, ends with; (3) value

5. Click Submit

And you’re done.

When you have activated at least one coupon configuration, on Checkout page your buyers will be able to submit an optional coupon code.

*Note: Due to a current limitation of PayPal, if your user makes a purchase and uses a coupon, we can not send a list of items through to paypal for processing. Rather, we must send the total amount of the purchase, so that within PayPal the user who purchases a product will see your shop name and the total amount of their purchase.
